I am a computational linguist, with a background in natural language processing and conversational AI. My career and interests revolve around the intersection of language and technology.
As a graduate student, I created an incremental sentence parser in SOAR that was able to carry out semantic and syntactic disambiguation and closely model human performance. I also participated in the creation of an automatic language assessment utilizing speech recognition and machine learning to achieve correlations greater than 80%. As a researcher I was able to complete 8 peer-reviewed publications and had 22 presentations accepted.
In industry, I have researched and implemented complex systems using machine learning and data-driven techniques in applications involving conversational AI, natural language search, machine translation and automatic speech recognition. As a computational linguist I implemented a machine translation system covering 58 languages that reduced translation costs by as much as 50%.
