I am a cognitive neuroscientist and data scientist. My research at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has spanned domains from computational biochemistry to RF/ wireless communications and geospatial analysis using machine and deep learning methodologies. I am currently enjoying work involving multimodal models, self supervised representation learning, multitask learning, transfer learning, and domain adaptation. Before joining PNNL i received a PhD in Neurobiology & Behavior at the University of California, Irvine in the Center for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory. There, I developed subject matter expertise in the neural mechanisms underlying human memory and facial recognition. My work was particularly focused on the neural correlates of the Other-Race Effect, which is the tendency to have trouble recognizing faces outside of one’s own race group. In addition I have experience in network neuroscience, particularly modeling functional neuroimaging time series data (fmri) with graph representations. I have a background and continued interest in human subjects research, experimental design, network sciences and graph analytics, deep learning, and machine learning.
