David Arulmani is the Vice President, Enterprise Data Operations & Technology, at Export Development Canada (EDC). With a consultative, servant-leader approach, he oversees all aspects of leading, building and fortifying EDC’s Data, Gen AI and Data Science capabilities, investing in data technology/tools, and crafting transformative data solutions since 2019. He is dedicated to creating a sustainable and secure data landscape, delivering maximum value to Canadian exporters and Employees, leading with empathy and transparency. Additionally, he currently spearheads data priorities, which encompass scaling Gen AI and narrowing the gap between EDC’s BI and Gen AI capabilities.
For 11+ years prior to joining EDC, David was with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), where in various leadership role he spearheaded strategic data and analytics initiatives, leading data technology teams for Retail Customer Channels, Collections, and Commercial Banking.
Prior to this, David has 14+ years of diverse leadership and team contributor experience in Banking, Insurance, and Technology organizations across Asia, Middle East, and North America, in Data Analytics, Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Platform Technologies, Data Governance, and Information Technology. He has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
