Mike is a research data science leader working in social science and economics. Mike loves the delicate process of combining disparate data sources to answer real world research questions, e.g. citizen science data, remote sensing, model outputs and surveys. He really excels in projects involving spatial data and has worked extensively with all the major GIS packages.
Mike has a PhD from the School of GeoSciences at Edinburgh University and has strong transferable skills from diverse employment in the public, private, third and academic sectors. He has a proven ability to learn new techniques to get the job done, combined with excellent interpersonal skills: providing strong leadership when required and getting stuck in as part of a team.
