I am a neuroscience researcher turned data scientist with a bachelors degree in Psychology. In my two years doing research in a neuroscience lab studying the effects of Thiamine deficiency, I streamlined and automated several statistical analyses frequently used in the lab using Python and R. In doing this I discovered my passion for data science and programming and decided to pursue a full time career in these endeavors. I have recently graduated from the Galvanize Data Science Program, where I built a capstone project utilizing web scraping, image processing and a convolutional neural net for image classification. I am interested in understanding trends, predicting outcomes, natural language processing and deep learning.
