I’m a veteran U.S. Navy Officer and helicopter pilot with over 11 years of experience in program management, solving technical problems, and leading teams.
The majority of my military training was in the world’s premiere Anti-Submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter, the MH-60R. I have expertise developing data collection plans that required environmental modeling to determine optimal sensor selection and placement. I have extensive experience deriving actionable insights from sensor data, searching for the meaningful signals in the noise.
Much of my training emphasized the value of breaking down complicated problems into relevant subproblems. As an aviator and tactician this approach has taught me to identify essential objectives, evaluate risk, and make time-critical data-informed decisions.
My military background has continually fueled my passion for understanding how systems function, and how events are related through cause and effect. In fact, it’s the reason I have decided to pursue a post-military career in Data Science.
My core interests include machine learning and predictive modeling.
