I have learned how companies need to continually check their strategy and evolve to stay competitive while serving an ever-changing set of customer and other stakeholder needs.
From my first foray into corporate social responsibility in 2004 to now, it is inspiring to see investors and industry leaders embracing the business value of effectively managing for environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts. At Scope 5, a division of Environ Energy as of September 2022, we help customers turn their ESG data into insight and action. In my prior role as CEO, I brought my strategic insight, creativity, and effective execution to shepherd the company on its ongoing journey. Now as VP of Strategy & Operations of Scope 5, we will continue to pioneer and innovate towards an interoperable sustainability data ecosystem to meet our customers sustainability needs.
As the wise old proverb goes, “The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second-best time is today.” So now is the time to assess and redesign our products, business operations and supply chains through a net zero carbon lens.
