Previously a postgraduate associate in the Gerstein Lab at Yale University, has a background in mathematics, cell biology, and biostatistics. Has undergraduate research experience in abstract algebra, graduate research experience in proteomics, and postgraduate experience in the pharmaceutical industry performing data analysis for high throughput screening. Was working in Yale’s Computational Biology and Bioinformatics department, on projects focused on preserving privacy and security of genomic data.

Experience in a Proteomics core at the University of Hawaii as a graduate research assistant. Lab experience included developing proficiency in human cell culture, multiple chromatographic separation and gel filtration techniques, the utilization of multiple mass spectrometry instruments, and peptide mass fingerprinting and barcoding for bacteria. Development of biostatistics problems in R and biology teaching experience necessitated the dissemination of technical knowledge to a largely non-technical audience. Computational aspects of research focused on bioinformatics, particularly in utilizing online databases such as KEGG, Swiss-Prot, and String for protein identification and pathway analysis.
