I am an applied scientist with a robust foundation in cognitive science and psychology. I’m originally from the Netherlands, where I spent my formative years and completed my undergraduate studies in philosophy and psychology. My academic pursuits led me to the United States, where I earned a joint Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Cognitive Psychology, complemented by a certificate in Mathematical Modeling from Indiana University.
Upon receiving my doctorate, I embarked on a professional journey with Microsoft. Over two decades, I served in numerous leadership roles, collaborating on groundbreaking projects with a dedicated and inspiring team. In the later stages of my tenure at Microsoft, my life took a turn towards real estate when I married my wife Erinn. I became the Chief Operating Officer at eXp Worldholdings (NASDAQ: EXPI), where I was pivotal in building the company’s foundational systems and steering its expansion.
My interest in real estate deepened as I obtained my broker’s license and shifted to consulting and advising various technology startups, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence and security products, serving on their Advisory Boards.
This led me to Real Brokerage (NASDAQ: REAX) where I assumed the roles of Chief Strategy Officer and Acting Chief Operating Officer. I played a critical role in defining the agent plan and stock incentives, establishing brokerage operations throughout the US and Canada, and setting the stage for the company’s exponential growth.
Currently, along with Erinn, I co-founded a real estate brokerage that is the next evolution in real estate. We have created a place where every agent belongs and has an equal opportunity to be wildly successful. We give agents a choice of plans and provide equity and a straightforward revenue-sharing model that doesn’t require recruiting on behalf of the agents. Our collective energy makes this endeavor special by building a brokerage driven by relationships, integrity, and transparency.
